USS Evangelizer ( Rendering - Compositing )

USS Evangelizer is a Moonbeam V passenger vessel designed to transport small teams across nearby star systems. Its fuel reserves support faster-than-light travel of 10 to 15 light-years before refueling, making it well suited for regional missions. Larger than the Silver Comet, it offers greater crew capacity and comfort, with a distinctive silhouette inspired by a Celtic cross.

The ship was designed by Joe Kendrick and modeled by EC Henry. I was commissioned by Joe to create a cover illustration inspired by the classic science-fiction novels of the early 2000s. To capture that era, I leaned into a strong color contrast, with strong colors, vibrant lighting, and rich textured deep space iconography that evoke the optimistic futurism of vintage sci-fi cover art.
This artwork was created as a part of bringing the world to life of Joe's newest musical, “Cybercordia".

Taking place in the far future, when the galaxy is ruled by a state religion and corporate monopolies, we follow Luther, a young space pilot who starts out as an advocate for the theocracy, but this all changes when he is sent on a mission to a far-away planet where he is forced to face the reality of the systems he previously swore to uphold. Disavowing the old religion, he confronts faith, power, capitalism, and colonialism as he travels across the galaxy no longer as a mouthpiece for the state but as a revolutionary voice hoping to inspire more and more factions to break apart from the Galactic Religion.
